Don't sell out the family Jewels for CHEAP

When we take an important decision it must be with cold eyed logic. For example if we have a stock that must either be sold or not. Say One bought a stock for $100 and its currently trading at $50. One may say “I can’t sell now while it’s down. I’ll lose Money.” To correctly analyze the situation, obviously one will not consider the purchase price. If one has sufficient reason to believe that it will trend up from $50 in the future, not only that but more so then other Issues that may be the alternative use of the Scarce Resource (money) counting transaction cost as well, then one would be wise to hang on to it. If the future prospect is pore relative to alternatives, Dump it!

 

Now I turn to weather to stay or leave the Sand Box. I hear often that if we cut and run , we “dishonor” the hero’s who have died in the struggle so far. While this is clearly true it is of no value to decision making.

The one thing we have as a Nation is our national reputation. It is orders of magnitude more valuable then all these other little things. (yah, I thick I’m a cold b##tard too.) If we Cut And Run, the whole world will know that OBL was rite. The US of A is nothing but a Paper Tiger. If we persevere, “nothing to fear but fear itself” and all that, We Will Win.

THE WORLD WILL KNOW WE ARE THE LION IN THE JUNGLE.

Foxtrot with U.S. and die.

THE VICE OF LAZY LEGISLATION

There’s a form of Vice, of lazy thinking which is mainly of the Left, not exclusively of course. It is to make a Law and then setback and think it is reality.

Need more money? Raise Taxes. Of course that’ll do it none of the Tax Payers will object, give up, quit, curtail more marginal activities, shift offshore, lie, cheat! No of course not just because the government is trying to take HALF their income. NOT.

Too many Innocent People getting shot? Make a Law. No guns for criminals. Yah! That’ll work. No mater that literally 10’s of thousands of good people must suffer for every criminal who will be prevented from walking into a store and buying a gun. Never mind that the Bad Guys will pretty much get all the guns they want any how. “We made a law.”

Global Warming? Out law it.

Homelessness? Give them all apartments. This may not be a good time to explain Scarce Resources.


Hell, in Ca they tried to make a Law requiring all dogs to be sterilized! Give me a brake. Skipping Property Rights for the moment, why waste money on the males?


Law is not Reality.
